Alexandra Kahrer

Alexandra Kahrer has won numerous international competitions, including the Grunewald International Music Competition Berlin, the Leoš Janáček International Competition in Brno, the David Popper International Cello Competition, the Gustav Mahler Prize Cello Competition and the Liezen Cello Competition. She is currently studying with Professor Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar.
She has performed as a soloist with the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonie, the Pforzheim Chamber Orchestra, the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Wranitzky Kammerorchester Prag, the Czech Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Enigma Classica Orchestra and in chamber music formations in renowned concert halls such as the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Musikverein Vienna, the Filharmonie Brno and others. She also performs regularly with the Ilm Quartet.
Alexandra Kahrer plays a cello by Giovanni Battista Rogeri (Brescia, 1671), generously on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
