Han-Wen Jennifer Yu is a native of Taichung, Taiwan. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Tunghai University, a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory and a Konzertexamen from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig.
As an active collaborative pianist, she has performed in renowned halls around the world such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, Flagey Brussels, National Concert Hall Taiwan. She has been heard on radio and TV stations such as Performance Today, Deutschlandfunk, RTBF Radio, Medici TV, and received critical acclaim from RBB Kulturradio Berlin.
She was awarded international distinctions, including First Prize at the 19th Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Poland, with cellist Mon-Puo Lee, and the Best Accompanist Prize at the George Enescu International Competition in Romania.
Han-Wen Jennifer Yu has served as a piano accompanist at the New England Conservatory, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and many other international music festivals. Since 2019, she has been appointed a piano accompanist of the International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists in Weimar, and in 2022, she was selected as the official pianist of the George Enescu International Competition.
Recently, she has worked intensively with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Karajan Academy. Among the musicians with whom she has collaborated in the past and present are winners of prestigious international competitions and professional soloists. She has been the director of the Ensemble Taiwan & Guests and the musical project management company Project Zero, collaborating with hundreds of performers and team members. She now lives in Berlin as a freelance pianist.
