Alex Lau

Born in Hong Kong in 2002, Alex Lau is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich with Wen-Sinn Yang. He has performed in concerts at the Seiji Ozawa Academy, Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, NUME Festival, Villars Music Academy, Chamber Lab and Daniel Hope Academy, collaborating with renowned artists such as Robert McDonald, Ani Kavafian, Catherine Cho, Daniel Hope, Mi-kyung Lee and others. He has performed at venues such as Victoria Hall in Geneva, Fondation Pierre Gianadda and Flaggey in Brussels.
Alex Lau has received important musical impulses from renowned musicians such as Misha Maisky, Gary Hoffman, Pavel Gililov, Nobuko Imai, Tabea Zimmermann, and he studied with Norbert Anger, Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, Susanne Müller-Hornbach, Laurent Perrin and Hsin-Hsin Chang in Dresden, Frankfurt and Hong Kong. A passionate advocate of expanding cello music, Alex Lau collaborated with choreographer Jacopo Godani and the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company. Together, they have embarked on successful tours across Italy and Germany, captivating audiences with their unique fusion of music and dance.
