Ping Wang Chen

Ping Wang Chen was born in 2007 in Hong Kong, China. He has been studying piano since childhood with James Brawn and Oliver Salonga. Ping Wang Chen was admitted to the Music Middle School Affiliated to Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in 2020, under Liu Chanyun. His awards include the 2017 Chopin Memorial Award, 3rd prize in children’s category B at the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, 1st prize in piano solo category 3 at the 5th International Moscow Music Competition, 3rd prize in junior category at the 2022 London Classical Music Competition.
He was shortlisted in the 23rd International Piano Competition Spanish Composers, Manuel de Falla Edition, and in 2024 he won 1st prize at the Xiamen International Piano Competition.
Ping Wang Chen started composing while studying piano. His work The Boat was premiered in school and received unanimous praise from the teachers.
