Young Jae Kim

Young Jae Kim is a 23-year-old Dutch classical pianist. In his early years he studied with the renowned Dutch professor Jan Wijn, then with David Kuijken and is currently studying with Frank van de Laar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2013 he won 1st prize in the regional final of the Prinses Christina Concours in Haarlem in the junior category. In 2014 he took part in a lunch concert in the Kleine Zaal of Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam and began to perform in other venues such as the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, the Franz Liszt Piano Festival and the Ootmarsum Pianofestival, while appearing as a guest on Dutch national television, NPO 2. And recently he was awarded a medal of honour at the Maria Canals International Music Competition in 2024. He has received masterclasses from Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Dominique Merlet, Anna Fedorova, Aleksandar Madžar and Janusz Olejniczak.
