A young pianist of the new generation, Wanwan Yang has been praised for her ability to achieve both delicate sentimentality and fiery passion in her playing. Her music has led her to perform at Harris Hall in Aspen, Colorado; Studzinski Recital Hall in Bowdoin Maine; Friedberg Hall and Griswold Hall at Peabody Institute; Finney Chapel and Warner Concert Hall at Oberlin Conservatory; concert halls at China Conservatory of Music, Tianjin Conservatory of Music and other venues around the world. She received awards from the West Lake Festival Competition in 2015 and the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy Competition in 2019. She was also the recipient of the Truax Darlington Fund Scholarship during her studies at the Peabody Institute. Throughout her studies, Wanwan Yang has been admitted to prestigious studios of pianists such as Matti Raekallio, Angela Cheng and Boris Slutsky while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Oberlin College and Master’s degree at the Peabody Institute. She received a full tuition scholarship to pursue her doctoral studies with Professor Eric Zuber at Michigan State University from 2022.
