Born and raised in Tokyo, Aoi Saito is a graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studied with Asako Urushihara and Natsumi Tamai, and is currently studying at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Professor Latica Honda-Rosenberg. She has taken part in masterclasses given by Miriam Fried, Leonidas Kavakos, Mihaela Martin and others.
She has won prizes at numerous competitions and festivals, including the 2023 Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand, the Violinwettbewerb der Ibolyka-Gyarfas-Stiftung in Berlin and, most recently, the Villars Music Academy.
Aoi Saito has performed with orchestras such as the Tokyo Geidai Philharmonia and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and has participated in many festivals including the Miyazaki International Music Festival and La Folle Journée in Japan. An avid chamber musician, she has been invited to the Seiji Ozawa International Academy Switzerland and the Villars Music Academy.
