George Enescu International Competition 2022 – Official Aftermovie
As we look back on the 2022 George Enescu International Competition, the aftermovie shares its magic and energy with audiences worldwide. This cinematic journey offers glimpses into the artists’ meticulous preparations, their breathtaking performances, and the emotional award ceremony. It celebrates the enduring beauty of classical music and the remarkable talents of its performers. The Romanian Athenaeum, with its stunning architecture and acoustics, provided a perfect setting for the competition’s final performances.
The winners
Romanian violinist Maria Marica emerged as the victor in the Violin Section, captivating the audience with her performance of the “Concerto in D major for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 77” by Johannes Brahms.
In the Cello Section, Benjamin Kruithof from Luxembourg claimed the top prize, delivering a compelling interpretation of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor Op. 104.
The Piano Section saw Alexandra Segal representing Israel take the first prize with her performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Concerto No. 3 in C.
