Recital featuring Enrico Dindo and Mikhail Mordvinov – September 4th 2024

Cellist Enrico Dindo, a member of the jury for the Cello Section of the George Enescu International Competition, will give an exceptional recital at the Romanian Athenaeum on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 7:00 PM, alongside pianist Mikhail Mordvinov.

Enrico Dindo is “a cellist with exceptional qualities, a complete artist, and a fully developed musician, with an extraordinary sound that flows like a splendid Italian voice,” as the great maestro Mstislav Rostropovich described him when awarding him the First Prize at the Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris in 1997.

Enrico Dindo accepted the invitation from maestro Cristian Măcelaru, the artistic director of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition, to give this recital, as maestro David Geringas was unable to participate in the event due to health issues.

The program for the evening will include a repertoire composed of Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestücke, Op. 73; Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata in C major for Cello and Piano, Op. 119; Robert Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro, Op. 70; and Nikolai Myaskovsky’s Sonata No. 2 in A minor for Cello and Piano, Op. 81.
