After an intense and difficult deliberation, the Piano Jury of the George Enescu International Competition has selected the three exceptional pianists who will advance to the highly anticipated final round. These talented musicians have distinguished themselves through their artistry, technique, and deep understanding of the music, and now they stand ready to showcase their interpretations of some of the most challenging works in the piano repertoire.
The Finalists
Let’s meet the three pianists who will be competing for the top prize in the 2024 Piano Section of the Enescu Competition:
- 🎹 Evgeny Konnov (Russia), 32 years old
Evgeny will be performing Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23

- 🎹 Roman Lopatynskyi (Ukraine), 31 years old
Roman will take on Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, Op. 83.

- 🎹 Tatiana Dorokhova (Russia), 33 years old
Tatiana has chosen to perform Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, Op. 15.

The three finalists will perform these concertos accompanied by the esteemed George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Christian Reiff, in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music.
