Austin Topper is a Polish-American cellist from Dallas, Texas. He is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory, where he is studying with Laurence Lesser on a full scholarship. He has been fortunate to participate in masterclasses led by Laurence Lesser, Lluís Claret and Raman Ramakrishnan and has collaborated with a number of world-renowned artists including Merry Peckham, Vivian Weilerstien, Lluís Claret, Nicholas Kitchen, Yeesun Kim and Soovin Kim. His teachers have included Eugene Osadchy, Ko Iwasaki and Andrés Díaz.
Austin has spent his summers studying with Tomasz Strahl at the Chopin Academy of Music, Gustav Rivinius at the Radolfzell Sommerakademie and the Heifetz International Music Institute.
An accomplished artist, Austin Topper has published two works of art, including the cover of a scholarly book on Béla Bartók, published by Peter Lang International Academic Publishers, in New York, Berlin and Bern.
