Calvin Abdiel

Indonesian/Australian pianist Calvin Abdiel completed his Bachelor of Music (Performance) with First Class Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Natalia Ricci and is currently pursuing his Master of Arts with Professor Eldar Nebolsin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. He won 3rd prize at the 2021 Sydney International Piano Competition and 3rd prize at the 27th Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize in Italy. Calvin Abdiel has performed with the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella Symphony, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the G20 Orchestra and the Orchestra ICO Suoni del Sud, working with conductors including Gerard Schwarz, Roger Benedict, Richard Davis and Benedetto Montebello. His live performances in Australia have been recorded by ABC Classic FM and 2MBS Fine Music FM, and his debut CD was released by Decca Australia in June 2024.
