Yookyung Kang

Yookyung Kang graduated from the Korea National University of Arts with a Bachelor’s degree, where she studied with Professors Bonju Koo and Younguk Kim. She is currently in her final year of the doctoral programme at the Korea National University of Arts. She was the concertmaster of Confero Camerata and won several prizes, including the grand prize at the 2019 KBS KEPCO Music Competition, 2nd place at the Seoul International Music Competition, the youngest 2nd place and virtuoso special prize at the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition in Germany, 1st place at the Ewha Kyunghyang Music Competition, 2nd place at the JoongAng Music Competition, and many others. Moreover, she received the Shinhan Music Award.
YooKyung Kang has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Pueblo Symphony, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra. She made her debut at the Kumho Gifted Concert in 2007 and is currently active in chamber music performances. YooKyung Kang plays a violin supported by the Kumho Cultural Art Foundation.
