Born in Antwerp in 1999, Leon Blekh began playing the violin at the age of 6 under the guidance of his father, a student of David Oistrakh and Dorothy Delay. At the age of 9 he was admitted to the Young Talent Class at the Prince Claus Conservatoire and continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp with Alissa Margulis and Tatiana Samouil. He has performed in prestigious venues around the world, including Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Brussels’ La Monnaie, and participated in festivals such as Verbier and Gstaad Menuhin. He recently won 2nd prize and the Audience Award at the Windsor Festival International String Competition. Leon Blekh has collaborated with ensembles such as the Residentie Orkest and the Tbilisi State Symphony Orchestra, and is Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel since 2019, where he is refining his craft under Augustin Dumay.
