Jae Seung Lee

Jae Seung Lee was born in Berlin on 22 November 2001. In 2012 he began his studies at the Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach in Berlin. In 2016 he won 3rd prize at the 11th Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition. In 2018 and 2019 he was awarded a 2nd and a 1st prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Jugend musiziert, as well as a special prize from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
In 2019 he passed the entrance examination for the Julius-Stern-Institut of the Universität der Künste in Berlin. In the same year, he won the 2nd prize at the Dussmann-Wettbewerb, which gave him a wonderful opportunity to perform as a soloist at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. The masterclasses he attended were a great opportunity to work with and learn from great artists such as David Geringas, Stephan Forck, Gustav Rivinius and many others. He is currently studying with Professor Stephan Forck at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
