Sara Čano

23-year-old Slovenia/Croatia nationality Sara Čano began studying the cello with her mother. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich with Professor Julian Steckel and is now studying at the Academy of Music at the University of Ljubljana with Professor Miloš Mlejnik. She has won top prizes at numerous international competitions, most notably the 1st prize at the Dotzauer Competition in Dresden (2016) and the 2017 International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. Recently, she won the 1st prize and 100 points at the TEMSIG National Competition and the 2nd prize at the Papandopulo Young Musicians’ Competition in Zagreb.
