Alexa Stier

Described as “simply phenomenal” by New Britain Herald, Alexa Stier has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (UK), the New Britain Symphony Orchestra (USA) and the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania). Alexa Stier won 1st prize at the Sheepdrove Piano Competition and the Virtuoso & Belcanto Concerto Competition. She was awarded 3rd prize, Audience Prize and Prize for the best interpretation of a commissioned work at the Olivier Messiaen International Competition. She won the Maurice Ohana Prize at the International Piano Competition of Orléans. Alexa Stier is the founder and artistic director of the ContemporArt Chamber Music Festival in her home town of Satu Mare, Romania. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as a student of Fali Pavri. She completed her Master’s degree at the Yale School of Music, USA, where she is currently a doctoral candidate, studying with Boris Berman and Wei-Yi Yang.
