Seokmin On

Born in South Korea, Seokmin On has lived in the United States since the age of 14. He received his early training in Philadelphia, studying with Charles Abramovic at Temple University Music Preparatory. At the age of 18, he won the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition and made his orchestral debut with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra.
He has played for renowned musicians in masterclasses around the world and has gained much inspiration from Martin Canin, Nelita True, Marc Durand, André Laplante, Alexei Volodin, Alexander Melnikov, Dina Yoffe, Julian Martin, Severin von Eckardstein and Matti Raekallio.
A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington (BM, PD) and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (MM), Seokmin On’s principal teachers have been Fabio Bidini, Evelyne Brancart, André Watts and Edward Auer. He is currently a postgraduate student (Konzertexamen) under Claudio Martínez Mehner and Nina Tichman at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
