Kang Tae Kim

SOUTH KOREA

Born in 1997, Kang Tae Kim began playing the piano at the age of 6. He made his debut with the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11 and had the Kumho Prodigy Concert at 12. He won 3rd prize at the Isang Yun International Music Competition in 2019 and 2nd prize at the Takamatsu International Piano Competition in 2018. He also received the Giovanni Turcotti special prize at the Valsesia Musica Competition, and 1st prize at the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy Concerto Competition and the Osaka International Music Competition. Kang Tae has performed in many venues such as Teatro Civico di Varallo, Kemon Hall, Qintai Concert Hall, Gyeonggi Arts Center and Gyeongnam Culture & Art Center and as a soloist he has performed with many orchestras including Takamatsu Symphony Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra and Wuhan Symphony Orchestra. He studied with Hee-Sung Joo and Yoon-Ju Oh and is currently based in Berlin where he is studying with Markus Groh at Universität der Künste Berlin.
