Amira Abouzahra

Amira Abouzahra began playing the violin at the age of 4. She studied with Alexander Gawrilenko, Homoki Gábor, Eszter Haffner, and since 2019, with Professor Dora Schwarzberg at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. She made her debut with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México at 7, playing Vivaldi’s Spring. Amira Abouzahra has since performed with major orchestras including the Hungarian National Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in prestigious venues including the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Cairo Opera House. She is a prize winner of many competitions such as the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition, the Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition, the International Fritz Kreisler Competition and was awarded the Charlotte White Foundation Career Grant. She has performed with artists such as Mikhail Pletnev and Dmitry Sitkovetsky. Upcoming concert engagements include concerts with Zubin Mehta and the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Vladimir Jurowski and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin.
